Roundtrip to Szrenica

Year ago, after grand re-opening of the railway track from Harrachov to Szklarska Poreba has made it easier for the tourist trips in our region.

It is fairly easy to do one day round trip between Czech and Poland, making it over the top of the Szrenica mountain (1362 meters above sea level), and visiting stylish hut on top of the mountain since 1922. Best time to start this trip is before 9am from Harrachov train station. After you get to Szklarska Poreba, you’ll have to walk trough beautiful town center all the way to the base chairlift station, which will take you to the top of Szrenica. Chairlift operates daily between 9am and 4:30pm and summer season ends on 10.23.2011. When you get out off the chairlift, you can refresh yourself in the hut and then walk to the state border (Czech – Polish friendship path). After boarder crossing you’ll be descending towards Vosecká bouda. Back to Harrachow is all down the hill as well, you’ll walk around Krakonošova snídaně and then along Mumlava river with large”bowls”, created by strength of the water in the river during snowmelt and also erosion. Mumlava river also has great water fall, biggest in the spring or after rainy days. In the middle of the summer lots of people enjoy cold water stream to refreshing dip.

Recommended is to take Western Krkonose tourist maps as well as polich currency Zloty and travellers ID(passport or drivers license).
